My Dearest Daddy,

Your letter came this morning and I was glad to hear from you.  I sure hope the hot weather will be gone when I get home.  Doesn’t seem like it could last much longer.  It’s been real cool here to-day, had a fire all morning.  It was real cloudy to-night.

What’s getting wrong with the dog that he is so cross?

Honey don’t try to do a lot of washing, if you can wash out your underwear and things you have to have, I’ll be home and get things straightened out.

I fixed a dress for Patricia to-day, just straightened it around the bottom.  It didn’t hang even.

I’m going up this week and find out about the bus.  I’m hoping I can leave so I can see the part I missed coming out.

I don’t know any news to-night.  We were home all day, but Patricia and I did go to the store after supper she had to get  some baby food.  All the stores close at six but this one super market and several beer gardens.  Dale says if you buy liquor you have to buy a card first it costs a dollar, and the only place you can buy it is from a liquor store.

I wrote to Norma last week and sent him a folder of scenes (?). He won’t be gone before I get home will he?

Well honey I’ll close for this time.  Take care of yourself and eat enough.  How is the cereal, coffee and bacon and juice holding out? There is more juice in the cupboard in the basement.  Did you cook any of the meat in the freezer?  I’l soon be home now.  Elyce says this morning, are you going home Grand Mother?  I said “yes,” won’t be long now, She says Oh No!

For this time then, Nite Nite and Sweet dreams.  Be careful honey and take care of yourself.  Don’t try to do any thing when its so hot.  Lots and lots of love Daddy.

Always Your

Girlie.

My Dearest Daddy,

How are you to-night?  This has been another sunny day out here.  Its usually cloudy until nearly noon then the sun comes out.  It was really cold last night.  Went down to about 46.  Its supposed to be 65 tomorrow.  It hasn’t rained since I’ve been here.

We went to Kent this afternoon.  I had to get some stamps then we went over to Loretta’s and she and her friend came home with us.  They went down to the lake and swam and stayed for supper.  Now they are playing cards.  The children are all in bed and it is quiet.

I think I will go up to Seattle Sat. and find out about the bus.  What time it leaves.  Patricia wants me to stay until after Labor Day, but I think I will leave on Sat. or Sun.  Dale is on days and if I leave Sat. or Sun. he can help Patricia with the children.  I think I will send a box so my suit case won’t be so heavy. I’ll get it in the mail the first of the week.

We had hash for supper tonight and cabbage salad and cherry pie.  I wish you could have seen that dish of hash, it would last us a month.  Potatoes are cheap out here, 50 lbs. for .97 and they are big ones.

Well honey it won’t be long now and I’ll be back and “up and at them.”  But I think I can go on for a good long time after this vacation.  I really was kinda worn out.  I hope you are feeling all right and how are you making out taking your medicine.

Patricia’s neighbor brought us 8 more big bass tonight, so we are having a fish fry.  She is making some hot tea so guess I’ll close and have a cup.  We had a fire in the fire place.

Good night Sweet heart and lots and lots of love.

Always Your

Girlie.

My Dearest Daddy,

I received two letters this morning and was glad to hear from you and that you are making out.

I guess you were surprised to see Doris. What kind of a station wagon do they have?

I don’t know why Colemans expected a letter.  I sent a card and I did write a letter.  If I write to you every night that’s about my limit and if I don’t write it at night, it’s hard to get it done during the day.

Tell Butch I’ll soon be back in the swing. I hope the hot weather is nearly over with.  It’s so nice and cool out here.  Even when the sun shines and it’s real warm, if you get in the shade you need a sweater.

Patricia washed to-day and since her neighbor had the dinner yesterday (Sun.) she cooked to-day beef roast, mashed potatoes, carrots and gravy and cherry and pineapple pie.  And tonight her neighbor came up and brought me a big box of cookies.

Honey do you think there will be tomatoes enough on our vine so I can can some? I hope so.

Daddy don’t worry about me being or getting too tired.  I’m getting a good rest.  Even though Diane thinks I’m such a help. ha! ha!

We cut some beautiful roses yesterday.  I wish you could see them.  They are so big.

Well honey I guess I better close and get to bed.  It’s nearly eleven.  I’ll write again tomorrow, so Good Nite Sweetheart. Sweet Dreams and lots of love.

Always Your

Girlie.

My Dearest Daddy,

How are you tonight?  Did you have a nice day?  I see by the paper it’s pretty hot there again.  I wish I could bring some of this nice cool air back with me.

We had a nice day.  Patricia, Diane, Cindy, Elyce, I and Patricia’s neighbor went to Church.  They have a pretty church and the minister said he went to school with Mr. Schoolmaster.  When we got home Patricia’s neighbor said let’s have a picnic, I’ll bring the food up and we will eat in your yard.  So about 3:30 she came up with meat loaf, potatoe chips and Patricia baked beans and a cake and the neighbor brought butter scotch pudding and whipped cream.

After we ate we went for a long drive, came home across the floating bridge.  It was beautiful.

Sat. we went up to Seattle and looked in the stores.  They have big stores, bigger than Detroit.  As we came by Boeing  one of those big b-52s was coming in.  And I saw one of the jet passenger planes they are building.  They carry 186 passengers.

How is everything at home?  Are you feeling all right?  I’m afraid I’m taking on some extra pounds which I don’t need.

It’s after eleven so I think I’ll close and get ready for bed.  Patricia just came out all ready for bed.  Write soon and let me know how you are.  Be careful honey. Take care of your self and don’t try to do too much.  God Bless you my dear and lots of love.

Always Your

Girlie.
